Travel Mug Features

coffee travel mugYou are ready to buy a travel mug, but you haven’t decided which one you want to pick yet.  There are a lot of different kind of mugs out there – varying wildly in size, color, make, and price.  How do you know which one you should choose?  Let’s look at some of the different features of a coffee mug to figure out how you can buy the best travel mug for your morning commute.

Before you buy your new travel mug, think about how you are going to use it, and what kinds of drinks you want to put in it.  If you plan to use it a lot while driving, make sure it has a good cover to keep it from spilling, and that it will fit into your car’s cup holder.  Some travel mugs will be too large to fit in the cup holder, making them nearly useless to you if you want to take them to work with you.  Also make sure that your mug is insulated so that it will keep drinks at the correct temperature for hours.

You have a number of different features to look at when you buy your mug.  You can choose what your mug is made out of: be it stainless steel, plastic, ceramic, or some other material.  Check that you like how the lid attaches to the mug, so that you will be able to drink from it easily.  You will need to take proper care of your mug by hand washing it so that it will last, so be sure that it is not extremely difficult to hand wash.

The main purpose of a travel mug is that you can use it with any drink while you are travelling.  Mugs come in a variety of prices, from $3 up to $10 mugs.  Stainless steel is a more expensive, yet healthier option.  And mugs with a double wall insulation will keep your drink at the right temperature for even longer than normally insulated mugs.  All these features are things you should consider when you decide to shop for and buy your travel mug.
